3 Reasons Why I Love to Dance (and Why You Might Too)
Share
Let’s be real — I didn’t grow up dancing. I wasn’t the kid in ballet recitals or the one who knew all the choreography from MTV. But somewhere along the way (read: adulthood), I discovered something magical... dancing makes me feel alive. Here’s why I keep showing up on the dance floor — kitchen, studio, or anywhere in between:
1. It Lifts My Mood (Faster Than Coffee!)
Bad day? Funky playlist. Low energy? Just 10 minutes of moving my body and suddenly I remember I like being alive. It’s my personal pick-me-up, minus the caffeine crash. A little groove, and I go from “meh” to “heck yes.”
2. It Exercises My Brain (Yes, Even If I Forget Where My Keys Are)
Learning choreography makes my brain work. I may forget what I walked into the room for, but I can remember 8 counts of movement — eventually. Dancing challenges me mentally and keeps my mind as active as my body. Who needs Sudoku when you’ve got body rolls?
3. It Lets Me Eat Dessert Without Regret (Because Food Is Joy Too)
Some people work out for abs. I dance for ice-cream. And burger. And fries. My motto? Move joyfully, eat joyfully. Dancing is how I keep my body happy and leave room for indulgence — guilt-free.
So yeah — Life Really is Better on a Dance Floor. Whether I’m following the beat or just making it up as I go, dance gives me confidence, clarity, and a reason to celebrate me.
And if I can wear a t-shirt that says it loud and proud? Even better.
